On November 7, 2023, the Malaysian Corporation for the Development of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MATRADE) hosted a meeting between the Chairman of the Guild of Commerce Russia-APR A.Karpov and the Deputy head of MATRADE, the Director for Work with countries of Central, Western, South Asia and Africa, as well as Europe, North and South America S. Jai Shankar to discuss issues of mutual interest within the framework of the partnership between Russia and Malaysia, as well as preparations for the 2nd meeting of the Russian-Malaysian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation (November 8-9, Kuala Lumpur).

During the conversation, questions were raised about possible options for further development of bilateral trade, economic, scientific, technical and business cooperation. The parties agreed to establish closer cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director To Keith Ying, the Advisor to Director Jude Bryon Dass.
